What is Parrot Chat?
Parrot Chat is a self-hosted platform for automatically transcribing audio and video files with OpenAI Whisper. It runs entirely on your own server – your recordings never leave it.
Which audio and video formats are supported?
Supported formats include MP3, WAV, OGG, FLAC, M4A, AAC and WMA, as well as the video formats MP4, AVI, MKV, MOV and WebM. You can also import media directly from a URL.
Is Parrot Chat GDPR compliant?
Yes. Because Parrot Chat is self-hosted and transcription runs locally with Whisper, all data stays on your own server in the EU. No content is sent to third-party clouds.
Which AI does Parrot Chat use and which languages are supported?
Parrot Chat uses OpenAI Whisper (self-hosted). Whisper automatically detects the spoken language and transcribes many languages, including German and English, with high accuracy.
How much does Parrot Chat cost?
